Yvette is a native Washingtonian whose love of yoga started in 2005, while in search of an exercise she would commit to. A colleague invited her to try yoga. Bingo! This was it! Yvette says, “yoga not only
impacted her body but touched her heart,” and became her exercise of choice.

“Yoga inspires me to be truthful about what my body needs right at that moment, and allows the space to challenge that need with no expectations of how it should end up. I found that powerful AND liberating!”

With that in mind, she offers her students that same space to connect with what is in the moment, with no expectations. In March 2012, Yvette received her 200 hour Vinyasa certification at Embrace Your Flow Yoga Teacher Training with Faith Hunter in Washington, DC. Her teaching style is from a fundamental place with the space and encouragement to build and to deepen.

Practicing yoga has taught her to:

Be present and okay with that.
Be honest and kind to your body.
Focus on what you can do and be open to possibilities. You can achieve more than you think.

Off the mat, you can find Yvette with a good book, watching an episode (or two) of I Love Lucy, crafting, planning events, dancing with her husband, Juaquin or spending precious time with her children,
grandchildren, family, friends and dog Dakota.

She is humbled and grateful for the opportunity to share the gift of this practice.
